J.T. Gray doesn’t get the love and recognition that some of the best safeties in the league receive, but he does the job anyways.
The New Orleans Saints missed the postseason for the first time since 2016 last year. J.T. Gray, however, was a bright spot and gave Saints fans something to look forward to in the post-Drew Brees era.
After playing college football at Mississippi State, J.T. Gray failed to get drafted in 2018 but got picked up by the Saints shortly. The 26-year-old defensive back played five games on special teams before getting waived.
J.T. Gray worked his way back to the good graces of the team by excelling with the practice squad and eventually received a reserve/future contract in 2019.
The hard-working Fan Arch athlete proved his worth that year, suiting up in 16 games as a core special-teamer.
