Playing Career

NFL Stint

Jim Harbaugh's playing career spanned 14 years as a quarterback in the NFL.

He played for various teams, including the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, and San Diego Chargers.

Although he had an illustrious career as a player, Harbaugh never won a Super Bowl during this period.

Playoff Run

His deepest playoff run as a player was in 1995 when he led the Indianapolis Colts to the AFC Championship Game, eventually losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite this significant achievement, he did not secure a Super Bowl ring during his time as a player.

Coaching Career

Early Coaching Roles

After his playing career, Jim Harbaugh transitioned into coaching. He began his coaching journey while still playing in the NFL, serving as an unpaid assistant coach at Western Kentucky University from 1994 to 2001. This early experience laid the groundwork for his subsequent coaching success.

NFL Coaching Stints

Harbaugh's coaching career in the NFL commenced as the quarterbacks coach for the Oakland Raiders in 2002.

He later secured a head coaching role with the San Francisco 49ers, where he made significant strides, leading the team to the NFC Championship game in each of his first three seasons as head coach.

Super Bowl Appearances

It is important to note that Jim Harbaugh did make it to two Super Bowls during his coaching career.

The first appearance came in 2002 when he was a quarterbacks coach for the Raiders. Unfortunately, the Buccaneers emerged victorious in that Super Bowl, denying Harbaugh a coveted ring.

The second and more notable Super Bowl appearance was in Super Bowl 47, where his 49ers faced his brother John Harbaugh's Ravens.

Despite a valiant comeback effort by the 49ers, they ultimately lost the game 34-31, leaving Jim Harbaugh without a Super Bowl ring from his coaching days.

While Jim Harbaugh enjoyed a successful and impactful career both as a player and a coach, he does not possess a Super Bowl ring from either of these roles.
